gavingiants.jpgIn Gavin Newsom’s opinion, most people can’t get enough of Gavin Newsom. Now that Gavin Newsom’s ascended to the lofty position of Lieutenant Governor, he’s probably lonely for the peons back in SF. To fill our hearts’ voids, the ever-giving Gavin has apparently decided to write a book on social media and politics.

The Chron was somehow observant enough to notice Newsom’s presence at the virtual town hall meeting President Obama recently engaged in at Facebook headquarters, where he told them how Facebook could be used to recall the glory days of a campaign to “recapture energy” and “spirit.”

Perhaps if he talks this way enough he can still get on Oprah’s book club? Since the talk show diva’s leaving the air this year, probably not: as SFist reports, the book isn’t due until 2013.

For those of you who might question the Lt. Gov’s authorial qualifications: Newsom is apparently an expert in the field, since he has an impressive amount of followers on Twitter and friends on Facebook.

With that type of virtual street cred, it makes perfect sense! No word yet on if he will pen followups on other topics he mightily consumes, like, um, hair gel and teeth whitener.
