policeblotter_sfa.jpgIngleside and Bernal Heights residents have banded together in hopes that their favorite SFPD Sergeant, James Miller is transferred back to their neighborhood. Bernalwood reports that Miller has been temporarily transferred to another neighborhood in SF.

Miller was well-known and loved by neighbors, known for his invaluable knowledge of the Bernal and Ingleside area, they report. Many residents have been writing letters in support of Miller’s return to the interim Chief of police, Jeffrey Godown.

One such letter, by Anderson Street Safe Alliance member Deb McDonald states: “We are just getting to know you as temporary Chief of Police. You could go a long way toward gaining our support in the future if you immediately reverse this bad decision and keep Sgt. Miller here in Ingleside where his knowledge of the community and his long standing relationships with us represent one of SFPD’s greatest assets.” Such flattery!

Godown can be reached via email at jeffrey.godown@sfgov.org.
