On Saturday the St. Patrick’s Day parade and festival will be held on Market Street and in the Civic Center Plaza.

Starting at 10 a.m. staging for the St. Patrick’s Day parade units will gather along 2nd Street between Market and Brannan streets. At 11:30 a.m., the parade will move west along Market Street to McAllister Street and proceed west to Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place and south to Grove Street where the parade will disband.

Market Street between 1st Street and 8th Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 11 a.m. There will be no cross traffic along Market Street during the parade which should end by 2:30 p.m. Streets will reopen as the marchers pass and the streets are cleaned. The review stand will be on Carlton B. Goodlett Place.

The festival in Civic Center Plaza will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Grove Street between Larkin and Polk streets will be closed for the event from 12:01 a.m. to midnight Motorists should be advised that traffic in the area may be congested.

· 45 Union-Stockton
· 71 Haight-Noriega

Muni customers wishing to see the parade or who otherwise want to go downtown are advised to take Muni Metro.

Ruth Jackson Family Day Parade & Festival

On Saturday the Ruth Jackson Family, Friends and Community Day Festival will take place.

Beginning at 10 a.m. parade participants will gather at Santos Street and Velasco Avenue. At 11 a.m. the parade will move north along Santos Street, turn east to Sunnydale Avenue, north to Cora Street, then west to Visitation Avenue and to Hahn Street. The parade will end at approximately at 1 p.m. at Herz Playground.

The following Muni routes and lines will be affected by the parade as early as 9:30 a.m.:

· 8X San Bruno Express
· 9 San Bruno
· 56 Rutland

Little League Parade

On Saturday San Francisco Little League Baseball will open the 2011 season with a parade from the Presidio to Marina Middle School.

Beginning at 10 a.m. the parade will leave the Presidio Main Post through the Gorgas Gate, turn south on Lyon Street and proceed east on Union Street to Laguna Street, north to Chestnut Street, west to Divisadero, through the neighborhood and back to Bay Street to disband in the school parking lot.

San Francisco Police Officers will monitor the parade for necessary street closures.

· 28 19th Avenue
· 30 Stockton
· 43 Masonic
· 45 Union

Start of Daylight Saving Time

On Sunday daylight saving time will commence at 2 a.m., requiring clocks to be set forward one hour.

All Muni service will continue to operate on standard time through the end of Owl service. Muni schedules will adjust to daylight saving time with the start of regular service on Sunday.
