The San Francisco medical examiner’s office has identified a man fatally shot in the city’s Mission District Saturday morning as 24-year-old Aldo Troncoso.

The shooting was reported at about 2:25 a.m. near the intersection of 17th and Mission streets, San Francisco police Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

Troncoso was taken to a hospital where he died at about 4 a.m., Andraychak said.

A black SUV-type vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the shooting, but no arrests have been made and no other suspect information was immediately available, Andraychak said.

A small memorial for the San Francisco resident was set up over the weekend at the location of the shooting. Candles, flowers, blue bandanas and a sign reading “RIP Aldo a.k.a. Trigger” were assembled near 17th and Mission streets.

The Police Department’s gang task force is assisting homicide investigators with the case, he said.
