The SF Examiner is reporting that SF suffered it’s 12th homicide Monday night, when a teenaged boy was stabbed to death in the Ingleside District.

16-year-old San Franciscan Victor Zheng was, according to SFPD spokesperson Officer Albie Esparza, attacked “without provocation” by an 18-year-old Asian man at Capitol and DeMontfort, just off of Ocean Avenue, at 10:55 PM Monday.

The suspect initially approached Zheng and punched him, before fleeing. When Zheng followed his alleged attacker while dialing SFPD, “The suspect noticed he was being followed, turned and then stabbed the victim,” Esparza told the Ex. He was pronounced dead at SF General .

The stabber fled on foot and has not been located, Esparza told Bay City News. “We’re trying to ascertain if it was a stranger or if they knew each other,” he said. “We don’t know.”

As always, SFPD welcomes information at their anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
