cover-crosswalk.jpgAn 81-year-old San Francisco woman remained hospitalized today with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in the Mission District Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The woman was hit at 17th and Guerrero streets at about 3:30 p.m., according to police.

Police said the woman had been walking in a crosswalk on Guerrero Street when the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup traveling on 17th Street turned left on a green light and struck her.

The woman suffered serious head trauma, police said.

The driver, a San Francisco man in his late 50s, stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

The man has not been cited or arrested, and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been factors in the accident, police said.
