sfpd_squad.jpgPatrol officers in San Francisco found a man who had been stabbed in the stomach walking through the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood early this morning, a spokesman said.

At around 2:30 a.m., officers in the 800 block of Ellis Street spotted an 18-year-old man staggering and holding his stomach, San Francisco police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

The officers noticed blood on the man and called for medical assistance, Dangerfield said.

The man appeared to have been stabbed and seriously injured , police said, though the victim was allegedly too intoxicated to tell officers how he was assaulted or by whom.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
