One person was injured this morning when a truck drove off the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge near Hayward and landed in the Bay, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The CHP responded to the westbound lanes of the San Mateo bridge after getting a call that a white Ford Super Duty pickup truck drove off the roadway west of the toll plaza and landed in the water at about 10:45 a.m., CHP Officer Jonathan Short said.
One person in the truck suffered minor injuries, Short said.
The far right lane of westbound traffic was blocked by emergency vehicles, and the truck remained in the water.
