shooting_nighttime.jpgA 21-year-old man was injured in a shooting tonight outside a public housing property in San Francisco’s Mission District, a police sergeant said.

The man, who is a Sacramento resident, was standing with several other young men outside the housing authority property at about 7:15 p.m. when a suspect opened fire on the group, Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

The man was hit and suffered a grazing wound, but he was not taken to the hospital, Andraychak said.

He said the suspect fled the scene and had not been located.

It was too early tonight to determine a motive, but members of the gang task force were asked to respond to the shooting, Andraychak said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to leave an anonymous tip at (415) 575-4444 or text information to tip411 with “SFPD” somewhere in the body of the message.
