Baby-Giant-Anteater.jpgThe San Francisco Zoo’s newest and youngest member of its family will debut today – an infant giant anteater.

The infant, born on Dec. 22, has been bonding with its mother for the past month. Zoo officials say the pair have been progressing very well and will spend the next few months together until the baby is more independent.

The infant’s gender is not yet known.

Attendees of the debut will have the opportunity to speak with Eric Krussman, curator of birds and reptiles for the zoo.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at 1 Zoo Road in San Francisco.
