police-light-bar1.jpg12:38 PM: A man was stabbed outside a nightclub in San Francisco’s South of Market District early this morning and another man has been arrested in the attack, a police spokesman said.

The stabbing was reported at about 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth and Brannan streets, San Francisco police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.

Some sort of physical altercation occurred between two 25-year-old men outside a nearby nightclub, Dangerfield said.

One of the men brandished a knife and stabbed the other man multiple times, he said.

The stabbing victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive, Dangerfield said.

Officers responding to the scene found the suspect and arrested him. The man’s name is not yet being released, according to Dangerfield.

3:04 AM: At least one person was stabbed in San Francisco’s South of Market District early this morning, police said.

A fire dispatcher also said units responded to the scene at Fourth and Brannan streets, where the stabbing took place at about 1:45 a.m.

At least one victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, the dispatcher said, and the extent of the victim’s injuries was unknown.

As of 3 a.m., police from Southern Station, which has jurisdiction over the intersection, did not yet have details about the stabbing.

According to an officer from Southern Station, police were still conducting an investigation of the incident.
