The Commissioner’s Trophy was scheduled to arrive at City Hall at 11 a.m., and Mayor Gavin Newsom planned to hold a news conference with Giants officials shortly afterward.
The trophy will then be available for public viewing in the South Light Court at City Hall from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., according to the mayor’s office.
While the trophy sits in City Hall, Newsom will be traveling down to the Bayview District to coach a game between two teams of the Junior Giants, a youth baseball program of the San Francisco Giants Community Fund.
Robert Cluck, the mayor of Arlington, Texas, will be coaching the other team as part of a payoff of a bet between the two cities over the World Series.
Cluck will have to don a Giants jersey during the event. He also had to send some Texas specialty food from Arlington to Newsom’s office earlier this month as part of the bet terms.
