The victim, identified by the medical examiner’s office as Roderick Doneldson, 18, of Oakland, was shot shortly before 12:05 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Visitacion Avenue.

Officers in the area heard shots fired, and 911 calls about the shooting led police to Doneldson, who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Three or four male suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot. They were last seen running south on Loehr Street toward Sunnydale Avenue, according to police.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
