shooting_nighttime.jpg12/10 11:49 AM: San Francisco police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teen Thursday night at a Bernal Heights public housing complex.

According to police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza, the victim came at about 8:30 p.m. to a woman’s apartment in the Alemany housing development, located in the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard.

The woman walked to the back of the apartment, heard a gunshot, and came back to find the victim shot in the head near the front door, Esparza said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified today by the medical examiner’s office as 18-year-old Calin Hunter.

Esparza said an unknown suspect is believed to have come to the front door and shot Hunter there. No arrests have been made.

Information on Hunter’s relationship to the woman is still being investigated, according to Esparza.

The shooting is San Francisco’s 47th homicide this year.

12/9 9:35 PM: An 18-year-old man was fatally shot near San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood tonight, a police spokesman said.

The teen was killed at about 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard, just north of Interstate Highway 280, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police responded to reports of a shooting victim and found the teen inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound, Esparza said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Esparza said no arrests were made, and a suspect description was not available tonight. It was not yet clear whether the shooting was gang related, he said.

Officers tonight were trying to locate additional information and find potential witnesses.
