police-light-bar1.jpgA man was hospitalized with life-threatening stab wounds after getting attacked by four other men in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood early this morning, police said.

Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said the suspects followed the 27-year-old victim from a bar to a park area in the 100 block of Coleridge Street at about 1:30 a.m.

At the park, a fight began and the man was stabbed by at least one of the suspects, Esparza said.

The men, described only as Hispanic males in their early to mid-20s, fled before police arrived, Esparza said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, he said.

The Police Department’s gang task force is assisting the investigation to determine if the incident was gang-related, Esparza said.
