police-light-bar1.jpgA female pedestrian who was struck and killed early Wednesday afternoon by a University of California, San Francisco shuttle in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood was identified today by the medical examiner’s office as 65-year-old Nu Ha Dam.

Dam, of San Francisco, was hit while walking near Geary and Leavenworth streets just after 12:20 p.m., according to police.

The driver had turned the shuttle left from northbound Leavenworth Street onto Geary Street, where the front of the vehicle struck the woman as she crossed southbound Geary Street, police spokesman Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

Andraychak said he did not have information about whether Dam had been in the crosswalk at the time or had been walking on a green light.

The driver, who stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators, has not been arrested, Andraychak said.

The crash is still being investigated.
