We just can’t shake the 4th Annual Medical Cannabis Competition, nor can we get our wristband off. It’s a cloth one, not those synthetic plasticky deals. Maybe it’s fitting — maybe this is where we talk about the lack of synthetic plasticky people at Terra on Sunday night, when the Bay Area’s cannabis community — weederati? — came together for free music, free food and a whiff of 60 of the area’s best flowers, concentrates and edibles.

A fundraiser for the San Francisco chapter of patient advocacy group Americans for Safe Access, the Cannabis Competition was nearly thwarted by local law enforcement, who forced a last-minute venue change, and cannabis culture magazine High Times, which threatened a lawsuit if event sponsor The Green Cross didn’t step to. No stepping necessary, the event went off. And how.

The best buds? The Green Door’s BOSS OG Kush, not currently available at the dispensary, but winner of a Cannabis Competition trophy nonetheless.
