U.S. Half Marathon
On Sunday the U.S. Half Marathon will commence from Aquatic Park in the northern waterfront area and will proceed along its 13.1-mile course to the Presidio and across the Golden Gate Bridge beginning at 7 a.m. and will require the following street closures:

6:30 – 8 a.m.
•Van Ness Avenue southbound from North Point to Bay streets
•Bay Street from Van Ness Avenue to Laguna Street

6:30 – 10:30 a.m.
•One westbound lane on Marina Boulevard from Buchanan Street to Marina Gate
•Laguna Street between Bay and Beach streets

The following Muni routes will be affected
•28 19th Avenue
•30 Stockton
•47 Van Ness
•49 Van Ness-Mission

Veterans Day Parade
On Sunday the annual Veterans Day Parade will take place on Market Street from 2nd Street to Civic Center. At 9 a.m. 2nd Street from Market Street to Townsend Street will be closed to traffic and used for parade staging purposes. During this time, cross traffic will be allowed until parade commences at 11 a.m.

The parade will proceed north on 2nd Street to west on Market Street where it will turn west on McAllister Street. From McAllister Street, the parade will turn south on Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place (Polk Street) and will end at Grove Street. Streets will open as parade passes.

Traffic on cross streets will be allowed and will be controlled by San Francisco police officers and Parking Control Officers. To avoid any related delays, motorists crossing Market Street may wish to use The Embarcadero or Van Ness Avenue, which will not be part of the parade.

Transbay Terminal Construction
From 9 p.m., Friday until 6 a.m., Monday, construction at the Transbay Terminal will require first a partial and then a full closure of 1st Street between Mission and Howard streets.

From 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday, one or two lanes will be kept open on 1st Street. Beginning 7 a.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Monday, the entire block will be closed for demolition work.

Multiple traffic detours will be in place for motorists using the 1st Street approach to the Bay Bridge:

•Traffic from north of Market on Battery Street will detour via Clay, Davis and Beale streets to Howard Street.

•Traffic traveling from eastbound Bush Street will detour south on Montgomery Street to New Montgomery Street, Hawthorne Street (via Howard) and then to Folsom Street.

The 76 Marin Headlands Muni route will be affected on Sunday.

Similar construction over the next two weekends will require the same closures and detours. Parking Control Officers and San Francisco police officers will be deployed at 15 posts in the downtown and SOMA areas to monitor traffic.

The contractor does not anticipate working between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. If additional work is required, however, it will not include jack hammering or other excessive noise producing activities during the moratorium hours.
