Appeal Reader Jared King sends in these pictures of an accident between the N Judah and an SUV that he says took place a little after noon today at 6th and Irving.

“It looks like the Toyota made a left in front of the N and got smashed” King said. “I don’t think there were injuries.”

As you can see from the photos, the impact from the collision was enough to tip the SUV onto its side. If memory serves, SUVs of this type are

King reports that the N was moved at around 12:54, but we don’t have confirmation that regular service has been resumed.

Needless to say, the Appeal’s contacted spokespeople from both the MTA and emergency services to see if we can get more details on the circumstances of this accident. When we get a response, we’ll update.

1:30 PM: SF MTA spokesperson Paul Rose tells the Appeal that at 12:19 this afternoon, at 6th and Irving, an inbound (that’s toward downtown) N Judah collided with the SUV.

There were, he says, no injuries. He did not have any other details on how the accident occurred.

Muni was, Rose says, running shuttles in between Carl and Hillway and 19th and Judah, and says that he expected the scene shortly.

King confirms from the scene, saying that both inbound and outbound N Judah service was restored by 1:35.

“They flipped the car back” says King, who sent the video of the flipping you see below (listen for the cheer!). “The car runs, but smoke is billowing out of it.”
