A-R-Lycra-Ice-Skate-Boot-Cover_67345687.jpgPut your plans on ice – the Holiday Ice Rink is opening at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center today.
The rink, which is set up annually, allows Bay Area residents and visitors to ice skate near the waterfront in Justin Herman Plaza.

It will operate Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Presented by Hawaiian Airlines, the rink will host Aloha Fridays each week, with Hawaiian-themed decorations and giveaways, and a chance to win round-trip airfare for two to Hawaii.

Tickets to skate at the rink cost $9, or $5.50 for senior citizens or children ages 10 and under. After 6 p.m. on Fridays, and all day Saturday and Sunday, regular tickets cost $9.50 and the discounted tickets cost $6. Discounted group rates are also available.

This Friday is “Giants Friday,” meaning people who are wearing San Francisco Giants clothing can skate for free.

The 24th-annual building-lighting ceremony at Embarcadero Center is planned for Nov. 19.

On weekends and on weekdays after 5 p.m., the Embarcadero Center offers four hours of complimentary parking for skaters.
