The latest ranked-choice results in four races for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors were released Tuesday by elections officials.

The updated results, which factor in voters’ second and third choices for supervisor, show investment banker Mark Farrell leading Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District board member Janet Reilly by 214 votes in District 2.

In District 10, Malia Cohen, a public affairs, media and policy consultant, led Tony Kelly, a theater company founder and community activist, by 216 votes.

Board of education president Jane Kim retained a more sizable lead in District 6, as did deputy city attorney Scott Weiner in District 8.

Final elections results, however, are not expected until Nov. 30, Department of Elections Director John Arnst said.

District 2 includes the Marina, Russian Hill and parts of the Richmond District; District 6 covers the Tenderloin and South of Market neighborhoods; District 8 includes the Castro and Noe Valley neighborhoods; and District 10 blankets the Bayview District, Potrero Hill and Visitacion Valley.

Four tightly contested races for San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors remained close today.

The city’s 11-member legislative body will get four new members in January and could decide who will be the interim mayor until a replacement for current mayor and lieutenant governor-elect Gavin Newsom is chosen in the next mayoral election in November 2011.

Races remained undecided in District 2, which includes the Marina, Russian Hill and parts of the Richmond District; District 6, which covers the Tenderloin and South of Market neighborhoods; District 8, which includes the Castro and Noe Valley neighborhoods; and District 10, which blankets the Bayview District, Potrero Hill and Visitacion Valley.

In District 2, Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District board member Janet Reilly remained ahead of trailed investment banker Mark Farrell. leading by 258 votes>, according to results posted by the Department of Elections late this afternoon. Monday, Reilly’s lead was 231 votes.

In District 10, Tony Kelly, a theater company founder and community activist, continued his slim lead over Marlene Tran, a former teacher and neighborhood activist, and is now ahead by 32 votes was second to public affairs, media and policy consultant Malia Cohen. He had led Tran by 15 votes on Monday. In third place was BART board director Lynette Sweet; Steve Moss, founder of San Francisco Community Power, and Malia Cohen, a public affairs, media and policy consultant, were tied in fourth place.

Board of Education president Jane Kim retained her wider lead in District 6, as did Scott Weiner in District 8.

Final elections results, however, are not expected until Nov. 30, 28 days after the election, according to Department of Elections Director John Arnst.
