sfpd_crimescene.jpgGolden Gate Park’s Polo Fields may be closed until March, but I suspect they were a hotbed of activity yesterday: according to the Ex, someone flagged down a police officer Sunday after finding a human arm near the area.

The arm was apparently part of a male body that was reportedly brought to the SF Medical Examiner’s office yesterday. It sounds like it was in the Park a while — according to the Weekly, the ME’s office described it to their reporter as “a ‘decomp case,'” indicating that the level of decomposition of the body means the death was not recent.

As both the Weekly and Ex note, SFPD is playing things close to the vest, and did not have any additional details to share on this case at publication time. Same goes for the ME’s office — they told the Appeal they couldn’t release any information on the deceased person, pending notification of family.

When they give any of us new details, we’ll make sure you hear them, too.
