true-sf-giants-new-era-cap.jpgAccording to Appeal reader, broadcast and Bay City News reports, Giants gear is selling out across the city this morning.

The Sports Authority store at 1690 Folsom opened at 7 AM today, to, says merchant manager Anthony Bledsoe, a long line of people.

“I couldn’t even estimate how many people we have had come in” since then, he said. “We have sold a lot of merchandise.” They plan on remaining open until 11 tonight.

KRON4, broadcasting from that same Sports Authority, shows a packed store, and patrons buying hundreds of dollars of Giants hats and shirts.

An Appeal reader texted us from the Giants “Dugout Store” near AT&T park, where she says “hundreds and hundreds” of people are waiting in line just to get into the store. “They’re letting them in in shifts,” says KRON4 of the situation outside that SoMa store. The Weekly has pics of the crowd, if you’re into looking at pictures of people standing in line.

Things seem to be selling out, but Bledsoe told Bay City News that he anticipates that another truckload of Giants gear will arrive at the Sports Authority store later today.

In case you’re wondering, I’m a women’s medium, and prefer a shirt that’s black (as opposed to orange) dominated. Thanks, you’re the best!
