The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck this morning in Sonoma County.
According to the USGS, the temblor rattled an area around The Geysers at 5:02 a.m.
The quake was the second magnitude 2.0 or larger seismic event to strike the area this morning, and was centered about 2 miles north of The Geysers with a depth less than one mile, according to the USGS.
At 12:22 a.m., an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.4 rattled the same area, which experiences small quakes on a frequent basis.
