police-light-bar1.jpgThree women sustained injuries in a Friday night car crash in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill neighborhood when another vehicle evading law enforcement officers slammed into their car, a police spokesman said.

At 11:26 p.m., a San Francisco police officer attempted to stop a dark colored Chevy sedan for a traffic violation in the area of 17th Street and San Bruno Avenue, police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

The driver sped away, and the officer did not pursue the vehicle, Andraychak said.

A few minutes later, a University of California, San Francisco police officer spotted a similar Chevy sedan near Utah and Mariposa streets.

The university police officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but again the driver sped off while the police officer chose not to start a pursuit, Andraychak said.

A few blocks away, the Chevy sedan collided with a four-door sedan before the Chevy rolled over and the suspect fled on foot, he said.

Three women traveling in the unidentified sedan–ages 23, 29, and 30 — were injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital, but have since been released, Andraychak said.
