The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.4 struck early this morning in Sonoma County.

According to the USGS, the quake rattled an area one mile northwest of The Geysers at 4:18 a.m.

The tremor had a depth of 1.7 miles, according to the USGS.
