sunglass2.jpgPolice are asking the public to help them identify a big guy (seen above) who reportedly robbed the Sunglass Hut store located at 2327 Market St. in the Castro. The incident occurred last Saturday, September 25th at approximately 5:53pm.

The suspect, described as a white male, 6’01” tall and 300 lbs., reportedly robbed the store at gunpoint, demanding sunglasses (nope, not making this up). You can see from the above stills from surveillance video from a nearby store that he’s rocking the sideburns and a decent amount of gel, so watch out, hair product supply stores, you could be next.

He fled the scene on foot but was later seen getting into a black Honda Accord with a California license plate reading 5ZIL976. He was last seen wearing an orange baseball cap, a green shirt with a dark jacket with gray lining over it, and khaki shorts.

If you have any information regarding the identity of the suspect, please call the SFPD at (415) 575-4444 or TIP411. All tips are anonymous.

I don’t understand how the make, model, and license plate of the vehicle aren’t enough information for the police to ID the guy, unless the car or plates were stolen. And if you’re going through the trouble to disguise your car for a crime spree, sunglasses in the Castro… no compute!

Also, “heir supply” was such a great band. Er… wha?!
