earthquake.jpgThe USGS says that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 shook the Bay Area at 9:13 this morning.

They say the quake had a depth of 5 miles, and was centered 8 miles east-southeast of Milpitas and 9 miles east-northeast of San Jose City Hall.

No reports of damage or injuries yet, which isn’t too surprising, because a 3.1 is pretty small.

I certainly did not feel it in the Outer Sunset, but KRON4 says they are getting reports from viewers in SF saying they did, did you?

Gosh if only there existed a website where we could see who felt it and who didn’t and even announce to the whole world whether or not we felt it.

People living along the San Andreas Fault from San Fran to the Baja live on a dangerous peninsula , a section of the “mid-Ocean Ridge” system that is above sea-level.
The magma core of the peninnnsula running under the full lenth is 6 miles deep or 10 kilometers.
These sections ,or peninsulas are a recent rising ridge portion created in recent geologic time between 5 and 10 million years ago. I have located similar age peninsulas that are active and killing many people.

Italy and New Zealand are similar structures , same age of rising from the sea 5 to 10 million years ago. The magma is runing lengthwise in Italy and New Zealand and rising at the same “Geologic speed:”

Go experiment with Italy and New Zealand. Ask your child to shine a flashlite through a clear plastic globe on Italy and view the shadow on a darkened surface. We all know the “boot” formation of Italy but on the darkened surface is the shadow of two “boots” facing the same way as if placed there. THe other “Boot” is NEw Zealand.
