Longplayer and the Long Conversation
YBCA is presenting a musical performance of epic proportions: a 1,000 minute excerpt of Pogues founding member Jem Finer’s experimental orchestra. Longplayer will be presented simultaneously with the Long Conversation, an epic relay of one-to-one conversations among some of the Bay Area’s most interesting minds. In line with the Foundation’s goal of contrasting today’s “faster/cheaper” mindset with opportunities for “slower/better” thinking, this relay-style lecture presents randomly assigned pairs of speakers talking for 30 minutes, including Appeal pal Violet Blue.
