dna.jpgThe cops have a promising lead on the robber that cut a woman’s throat to steal her purse on the night of September 15th. The woman is now recovering from the life threatening injuries she received when the man stabbed her from behind in the neck with a box cutter, took her purse, and fled.

The 36 year old woman had just left her car and was walking on the 2200 block of 18th Street when she was attacked. The police called the robbery “especially brutal” because he didn’t even demand the purse before stabbing her in the neck.

The box cutter was found near the scene of the crime in Potrero Hill. Cops already had a suspect in mind and are now awaiting DNA analysis of the weapon. Results are expected within the next two weeks.
