Elsewhere: Shooting in Front of Taqueria Vallarta [ML@L]

One man was injured Sunday morning in a shooting in San Francisco’s Mission district, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Treat Avenue just east of the 24th Street BART station after receiving a call at about 3:25 a.m. of shots fired there, San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The officers did find the victim, a man in his late 20s, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on that block, but they believe the shooting actually took place a couple blocks away at the intersection of 24th and Folsom streets, Esparza said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, but his wounds have been determined not to be life threatening and he is expected to survive, Esparza said.

Police are actively seeking an unknown number of suspects for the shooting, Esparza said.

Anyone with information about the violence is asked to contact either of the department’s confidential tip lines by calling (415) 575-4444 or by texting information to TIP411.
