Ever wonder why there are so many gosh-darned bike riders descending on Market St. (near Justin Hermann Plaza) tonight around 5:30? It’s the last Friday of the month (that flew by!) which means it’s Critical Mass! Due to the massive number of bicyclists, traffic downtown (and elsewhere, but no one’s sure where — it’s always a surprise!) will be impacted.
Muni riders should take underground routes where they can, and for those of you driving along in your gas-guzzling cars, be aware that you’ll be wasting even more energy during an event partially intended to make you feel bad about the energy you already waste. Of course, you can always hop on your bike and be part of the masses in an attempt to reduce that gaudy carbon footprint!
