We’re busy sprucing up the joint to host our second Sunday Streets of the season. Come out and enjoy a car-free Golden Gate Park and Great Highway where you can run, walk, bike, hula hoop, skate… Anything goes, really. Check out the fun from last year, then stop by between 10am and 3pm on Sunday to hopefully enjoy some nice weather by the beach. If you’re coming by bike, there’s also a sweet deal for you at the Academy of Sciences.

Did you know the dahlia is the official flower of San Francisco? The Board of Supes made it so way back in 1926. This weekend they’ll all be gathering for the annual dahlia show at the Hall of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. There will be flowers shaped like tiny pom-poms all the way up to giant dinnerplates.

We’re keeping our eyes out for coyotes around Mountain Lake Park. Some have been spotted near the park’s dog run, the only one in the neighborhood. According to commenters, coyotes are not hard to spot in the Richmond District.

There’s been lots of discussion this week over a possible closure of a road that runs from the central Richmond District through the Presidio. Neighbors that live close to the gate want the road closed to traffic, other residents want it kept open as a route through the Presidio and to the Golden Gate Bridge. Do you live in the area? Weigh in.

Have a great weekend everyone!
