Greetings from the fog,

While residents are drooling over the possibility of Target moving in, another retailer is getting the opposite reaction. Petco wants to move into a former Walgreens location on Geary near 18th Avenue. It would be their third location in the city. But one neighborhood pet store owner is mounting a campaign against the retailer, concerned that Petco will have a negative effect on his shop and other small businesses, as well as “diminish the friendly, small town atmosphere of the neighborhood”.

In real estate news, I took a tour this week of the new Presidio Landmark apartments inside the 15th Avenue gate. The apartments for rent are schwanky (and $$$) and they did a really nice job with the property. We also toured one of the historic homes nearby on Wyman Avenue which the Presidio has finished restoring. Check out the video tour.

If you’re headed to Golden Gate Park this weekend, stop by Spreckels Lake on Sunday for the All Steam Power model boat regatta. Check out vintage and modern day boats including tugs, work boats, and open launches. If gardening is more your thing head over to the Botanical Garden on Saturday for their 12th Annual Summer Gardening Fair.

Have a great weekend everyone!
