muni_driver.jpgThe San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority reminded San Francisco transit riders Friday that today marks the start of bus service out of the Temporary Transbay Terminal located at Howard and Main streets.

Current transit services using the Transbay Terminal will shift over to the temporary terminal, which will allow for uninterrupted bus service through the demolition and replacement of the existing terminal.

The temporary terminal at Main and Howard streets will house service for AC Transit, Golden Gate Transit, Greyhound, Muni, SamTrans and WestCAT Lynx over the next seven years, until the new Transbay Transit Center is completed in 2017.

Representatives from the SFMTA will be available on site until approximately 2 a.m. Saturday to help Muni customers adjust their commutes.

The SFMTA is advising that the following lines will be affected by the relocation: 5-Fulton; 38-Geary and 38L-Geary Limited; 71-Haight-Noriega and 71L-Haight-Noriega Limited; and 108-Treasure Island.
