Elsewhere: Signal failure halts underground Muni service (Ex), Muni train service disrupted (Chron)

muni_generic.jpgSan Francisco Municipal Railway’s Muni Metro service was disrupted for more than three hours today due to malfunctioning electronic signals at the Church Street station, a spokesman said.

The problem was reported at about 11:30 a.m., Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

Buses took Muni Metro customers in both directions between the Embarcadero and West Portal stations while crews responded to the area and fixed the signals, Rose said.

Regular service resumed through the downtown area of the city as of about 2:50 p.m., he said.
