5:27 PM San Francisco police are investigating the killing of a 36-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times inside his Mint Hill neighborhood apartment over the weekend.

The San Francisco medical examiner’s office identified the man today as 36-year-old Philip DiMartino.

DiMartino was a senior marketing manager with Archstone, which owns and manages apartment complexes.

A co-worker had gone to check on DiMartino at his apartment at 138 Hermann St. at about 1 p.m. Monday after he had failed to show up for a meeting earlier in the day, police said.

He had been stabbed multiple times in the torso, according to police.
The motive for the killing is still being investigated, and no arrests have been made, police said.

10:21 AM A man in his mid-30s was found stabbed to death in his apartment Monday afternoon, police said today.

A co-worker went to check on the man at his apartment in the 100 block of Hermann Street at about 1 p.m. The co-worker looked through the window, saw the man lying on the floor and called police, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

“Police responded and discovered the victim had been stabbed multiple times in the torso,” Esparza said.

“It’s unknown when the homicide occurred, but it’s possible that it happened over the weekend,” he said.

The medical examiner’s office has not yet released the victim’s name.
