schools.jpgIs it that time already? This Saturday, August 14, kids can get ready for school with a free backpack filled with school supplies at the MAGIC Program’s Back-to-School Celebration and Backpack Giveaway. The event, the largest of its kind in San Francisco, is set to distribute 4,500 new backpacks to kids and teens in two locations across the city.

In the Bayview, the event will run from 11am to 3pm on Saturday at the Bayview Opera House at 4705 3rd St.

In the Fillmore, the event will be held at the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center at 1050 McAllister St. from 10am to 1pm. There’s a health fair families must visit to receive backpacks at the Ella Hill Hutch event.

In both cases, of course, the students must be present to pick up the backpacks filled with supplies.
