san-francisco-double-decker-tour.jpgA collision involving a double-decker tour bus this past Sunday in North Beach has left passengers shaken up and one in the hospital for minor injures. A ride in the unmistakable, brightly-painted red bus took a turn for the frightening when it crashed into another vehicle at a North Beach intersection. It seems like tourists just can’t get a break this summer, does it?

British tourist Tim Seed recalls the incident. “We were waiting to cross. The sign was on stop. Obviously, the bus went past and massive bang, and suddenly this massive crash happened.”

While the cause of the crash is still being investigated, eye-witnesses report that the car allegedly ran a red light, right before the collision.

Eberhard Brockmann, regional deputy consul general, has urged that recent negative incidents involving tourists, should not discourage foreigners them from visiting SF.

“These are things that can happen anywhere in the world” said Brockmann said.

A noticeable decrease in SF tourism is yet to be reported.
