The debris included at least one life jacket and other items, she said.

A helicopter and a 25-foot response boat were dispatched to search the Bay along the San Francisco waterfront and south of Yerba Buena Island, Williams said.

The Coast Guard was unable to determine the source of the debris, and the search was called off at about 9:45 a.m.
