A 17-year-old from San Francisco who aspires to become a lawyer will receive a $1,500 check today for her work as an unpaid intern with the city attorney’s office.

The Bayview Rotary Club will present the stipend to Jackie Fuller at its weekly breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Southeast Community Center, 1800 Oakdale Ave.

City Attorney Dennis Herrera and officers from the Bayview police station will be in attendance.

The Willie Mays Clubhouse at Hunters Point, part of the city’s Boys and Girls Club, named Fuller as its “Youth of the Year” earlier this year.

Herrera offered Fuller the unpaid internship in his office after learning from a police officer at the Bayview station that she wanted to be a lawyer.

The Rotary Club heard of Fuller’s achievement and decided to reward her with the $1,500 stipend.
