Come to Golden Gate Park this Saturday to play a game of capture the flag, but with a whole new twist to it — with STUFF!
Sponsored by the KGB, an informal social organization at Carnegie Mellon, this version of capture flag will include all kinds of stuff from belts to potions to wands. Get ready to stun and dispel with wands and skip while singing Yankee Doodle in what’s described as a “somewhat psychotic variation on a classic game. You can check out the basic list of rules here, or a more comprehensive rundown here, but it will all make more sense when demonstrated before the game starts.
These folks from KGB said it best about the difference stuff makes. “Stuff is a key concept in game design. Pong plus Stuff makes Arkanoid. Risk plus Stuff makes Cosmic Encounter. Rock-Scissors-Paper plus Stuff makes Magic: the Gathering. Capture-the-Flag plus Stuff makes… Capture-the-Flag With Stuff.” Speaking from experience after playing last year, I don’t think I ever want to go back to playing capture the flag without stuff.
