Hello from the fog!

What is it with our summer weather? It’s not just the west side shivering these days…

Speaking of shivering, last night I was out at the Cliff House for a community meeting about improvements at Lands End; a new visitor center is in the works. Lands End is probably my favorite place in the city, so I loved the video that the explorers at Spots Unknown posted recently. They took a little adventure on the Lands End path less traveled.

Let’s hope for some sunshine this weekend but if it’s a no show, you’ll still want to bring the kids out to the Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park for juggler-fire eater-escape artist extraordinaire Greg Frisbee. It’s part of the garden’s Family Shows on the last Sunday of every month.

We got good news last week that the 20+ year old tradition of Jimmy’s Old Car Picnic will continue in Golden Gate Park’s Speedway Meadow. To be diplomatic, they were having some “disagreements” with the Rec & Park Department. Mark your calendar for October 16 – BBQ’s, vintage cars and hot rods. Yeah, baby.

Have you seen this woman? Some bank tellers have and it didn’t end well. She’s wanted for robbing two San Francisco banks at gunpoint, including a Bank of America in the outer Richmond. I can’t decide whether I prefer her with curly or straight hair; she’s fetching in both photos.

In real estate news, the little house that could have, would have and probably should have was purchased last week. Reminiscent of the house in “UP!”, this abode has defied the odds. Here’s hoping the new owners do something interesting with it.

Have a great weekend everyone!
