gordon_ramsay-747731.jpgSF is crazy about our restaurants, catapulting chefs into near celebrity status. But there’s always going to be a few restaurants, that well, don’t quite make the mark. Whether its a gourmet bistro with cardboard pizza crusts, or an pan-Asian cafe heavy handed with the salt-there is now hope for failing restaurant enterprises.

Here’s the latest casting call to floundering owners from the producers of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s one time BBC, now FOX show, Kitchen Nightmares. “Are you trying to make some green, but still running in the red? Is your food not the best it should be? Or maybe you have a great location, but it doesn’t seem to bring in many customers?” They ask restaurateurs who might need a makeover from Ramsay and company.

But Ramsay’s producers aren’t stopping there. They are also taking suggestions from the public. “Has your favorite restaurant gone bad? Have you tried a new eatery only to discover it doesn’t cut the mustard? If so, we need your nomination!” they bark, saying that they’ll make the time to come out to SF for the right target.

Selected restaurant owners will get expert guidance, free publicity, and, I’m sure, a fair dose of Ramsay’s screaming. But hey, any press is good press, right?

So what are your SF candidates for the show? Don’t be shy, you can nominate yourself (now that’s brave) or a particular restaurant via e-mail kitchennightmaresLA@yahoo.com.

Do take out joints qualify as “restaurants”, maybe not, but worst food in SF might be Asia Express and Pizza Love. Ewww.

Seal Rock Inn’s restaurant. It’s always been a hot mess.

Can we have Gordon swing by Cafe Gratitude?

In my book, being a hot mess was always a good thing. But I’ll be sure to skip all of your suggestions for Gordon Ramsay next time I’m going out for dinner. Keep them coming!

Can we have Gordon swing by Cafe Gratitude?

    I’ll second that!
