The Federal Aviation Administration implemented a ground delay program beginning at 8 a.m. to slow the flow of San Francisco-bound planes due to fog near the airport, duty manager Joseph Walsh said.

Incoming flights arriving from locations west of Denver could potentially be affected, and outgoing flights could see delays later in the day.

“Right now we’re looking at 15-minute to 45-minute delays,” Walsh said at about 6:45 a.m.
The ground delay program, which would last until 2 p.m., could be lifted earlier if the inclement weather improves.
