muni_generic.jpgConstruction beginning Tuesday at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency’s Castro Station is part of ongoing work to replace all of the system’s fare gates and make other station improvements.

Muni riders are advised that construction at the Castro Station is expected to last through Friday.

During construction, a single fare gate per set will remain operable.

During the next six months, the SFMTA will replace the fare gates along with emergency and swing gates as part of the “Making way for a better way to pay” improvement project. New ticket vending machines will also be popping up at all Muni Metro stations.

Preliminary work has already been completed at the Embarcadero, Montgomery, Powell Street, Civic Center, Van Ness and Church Street stations.
