City_Hall_night.jpgThe time after dusk and before dawn is one full of surprises and wonders. Those curious night crawlers of the city (with a camera!) are invited to explore and document these intriguing hours between sunset and sunrise.

The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery (SFAC Gallery) and PhotoAlliance are hosting an open call to photographers to submit work for the “Night/Light: Bay Area Photographers Take Aim After Dark” exhibition. SFAC is looking for nighttime images of interest. Photos can range from landscapes, portraits, photo essays, or fantastical narratives. As always they’ll be judging based on quality, concept, and creativity.

Judges (our own Aimee Le Duc is one of them) will be selecting 3-10 images from each artist and winning submissions will be on display from September 1, 2010 to January 14, 2011 at the SFAC Gallery in City Hall.

To submit, you must be a residence of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and over the age of 18. You must submit your work in a digital portfolio of 3-10 images saved as JPEGs on a CD. All work must be original and completed within the past five years. No entrance fee is required. The deadline is Saturday, August 14th by 6 p.m. More details on submissions can be found here.
