gay_cityhall_gavel.jpgFrom Bay Area Reporter, in honor of the June 27th, 1970 march that spawned San Francisco’s first Gay Pride Parade, a Pride Rally 4 Equality march has been planned for today. The event will start at noon at Harvey Milk Plaza with gatherers marching down Market Street to the Federal Building on 7th & Mission.

Unfortunately, the rally hasn’t had much press but organizers are hopeful that this march will raise awareness of LGBT issues. Organizers are quite determined, stating that “we have much to be proud of but so much work to be done. We cannot give way to the assumption that we LGBT people are living with the same benefits and rights as the rest of society, not for one moment.”

The Pride Rally 4 Equality starts at noon and should only last until 2pm. Can’t make it out there but still want to show some support? There’s also a corresponding Petition for Full Equality available online.
