sffd_fire.jpgAn elderly man was found dead after a one-alarm kitchen fire in San Francisco’s Richmond District Wednesday morning, a fire department spokeswoman said.

A neighbor reported the fire at a two-story home at 706 17th Ave. at about 8:45 a.m., Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.

Firefighters entered the home and quickly put out the blaze, and discovered the man’s body in the kitchen, Talmadge said.

Talmadge said the man was the only one in the home at the time.

The medical examiner’s office has not yet determined his identity or cause of death.

Talmadge said the fire is still under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.
