The annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration Fair will stage a festival Saturday, May 15 from 11am to 6 pm. The festival will take place on Larkin St. between Fulton and Ellis Sts, Golden Gate between Larkin & Polk and Turk between Larkin & Polk. Attendance is estimated at 25,000.

Street Closures: Larkin between Hayes & Ellis; Fulton between Larkin & Hyde; McAllister between Hyde & Polk; Golden Gate between Polk & Hyde; Turk between Polk & Hyde; Eddy between Polk & Hyde; all intersections on Larkin between Fulton & Eddy.
In effect: 0300-2100hrs.

First Annual Inner Sunset Street Fair

The First Annual Inner Sunset Street Fair will be held Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to booths and activities this event coincides with the city-wide Sidewalk Sale by local merchants as part of San Francisco Small Business Week.

Street Closures: 10th Avenue between Lincoln and Irving; Irving Street between 9th and 10th avenues.

Bay To Breakers
Muni will provide special pre- and post-race Express service on several Muni rail lines and bus routes for the 99th Annual Bay to Breakers Race on Sunday, May 16.

Most Express service will require a Muni special event fare. Customers wishing to pay a regular fare should avail themselves of regular Sunday Muni service.

Muni Special Fares for Bay to Breakers Express Service
$10 for adults (age 18-64)
$9 for seniors, (ages 65 and older) people with disabilities and youths (ages 5-17)
$7 for all persons with a valid Muni pass, Passport or pass equivalent
Children under 5 are free.
Cash fares paid on Muni pre-race Express vehicles will receive a transfer valid until 5 p.m., not an event sticker.

Special pre-race Muni service fare media may be purchased from 5 to 8 a.m. at the following locations:

On the pre-race express vehicles
West Portal, Castro and Van Ness Muni Metro stations

Tickets for the post-race express service will be sold at Fulton Street at 43rd Avenue.

Muni customers must have pre-purchased their fare to board a post-race Express vehicle. The special fare stickers and tickets will be good for all Muni service, except cable cars, until 5 p.m. on Sunday.

All express service will require a special event fare unless otherwise noted.

Pre-Race Express Service, 5:45 to 8 a.m.

The 5 Fulton Express Bus will depart from Fulton Street and 47th Avenue, making local stops along Masonic Avenue, then travel express to 1st and Mission streets.

The 1AX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from 33rd Avenue and Geary Boulevard to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The 1BX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from California Street and 12th Avenue to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The 31AX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from Cabrillo and La Playa streets to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The 31BX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from Balboa Street and 12th Avenue to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The 38AX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from 48th and Pt. Lobos avenues to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The 38BX Express Bus will provide regular route service departing from Geary Boulevard and 25th Avenue to 1st and Mission streets. Regular fares apply.

The N Judah Express Bus will depart from Judah and La Playa streets, making local stops along Carl and Cole streets, then travel express to 1st and Mission streets.

The N Judah Muni Metro streetcar will run from Judah Street and 19th Avenue to Embarcadero Station. Civic Center, Powell and Montgomery stations will not be served by any Muni Metro special service; they will open at 8 a.m. as usual.

Post-Race Service, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Downtown Express – In addition to the local Muni routes that serve Golden Gate Park, post-race Express Muni service will be located on the north side of Golden Gate Park on Fulton Street only. Express buses will pick up passengers along Fulton Street at 47th and 43rd avenues. These buses will travel express to Davis and Pine streets downtown. This service will be the fastest Muni service to downtown. Post-race Express Muni service will end at 2 p.m.

Proof-of-payment is in effect on Muni.

Muni Service Details

Significant service disruptions to Muni bus routes and rail lines are anticipated because the race route closures include Howard Street, 9th Street, Hayes Street, Fell Street and John F. Kennedy Drive for approximately four hours. This effectively cuts the City in half.

Affected Muni lines: F, N, 5, 6, 8x, 9, 10, 12, 14, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, 38, 43, 44, 45, 47, 49, 71, 76, 108; Sunday morning bus service on K, L, M, N and T lines; special fare is in effect for Bay to Breakers Express service from 5:45 to 8 a.m.

Affected City areas: Downtown, Civic Center, Hayes Valley, Panhandle, Golden Gate Park

Pre-race service hours: 5:45 to 8 a.m., post-race hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pre-race motor coach service will be provided from 47th Avenue and Fulton Street and Judah and LaPlaya streets to Transbay Terminal.

Pre-race Muni Metro service will be provided from West Portal, Castro, Church and Van Ness stations to Embarcadero Station

Pre-race N-Judah service will be provided from Judah Street and 19th Avenue

Post-race motor coach service will be provided from Fulton at 43rd and 47th avenues. These buses will travel express to Davis and Pine streets. Intermediate customer stops will be made upon request at Masonic Street and Golden Gate Avenue, Fillmore Street, Van Ness Avenue and Kearney Street to Davis and Pine streets.

More than 25 Muni routes and lines rerouted

Streets east of the Panhandle should clear by noon.

The Special Events Muni fare sticker can be purchased during online registration, on the paper registration form, at the ING Greater Body Expo or on-site on event day. This fare is valid on all Express and local service until 5 p.m. Please note that this fare is not valid on cable cars.

Event organizers anticipate approximately 35,000 registered runners. The race is managed by AEG Events and is sponsored by ING Financial.

Large crowds are expected. Participants and spectators should plan for additional return travel time.
